This shoe was released in early 2009. There were 2009 pairs produced, 1005 for sale in the USA and 1004 for elsewhere. It is called the 2009 because the Air Jordan shoe produced directly before it was the XX3/XXIII, and as Micheal Jordan's number was 23, they didn't name any more shoes numerically.
